The server shows as offline
If the server shows as offline (the MOTD is not showing), there are a few possible explanations. See below for why this might be happening and how to resolve it. If the MOTD is showing but you cannot connect, read our article about getting disconnected when attempting to join.
If all servers are displayed as offline:
- Check your connection to the internet. If you have no internet connection, you cannot join the server.
- Check that your Minecraft is connected to the internet. Sometimes the Minecraft launcher will fail to connect to the internet even if your computer is connected. To resolve this, fully restart the game and the Minecraft launcher. If this doesn't work, try restarting your computer.
- Check that no programs are blocking outgoing connections on your network.
- Try disabling any existing firewall program you may have, or changing its configuration options to allow you to connect.
- Restart your modem/router if you are having WiFi issues.
- Try logging out of your account and then logging back in, as this refreshes your profile's authentication and connection with Mojang's servers.
- Your network may block Minecraft servers (for example a school network). Wait until you get home!
If only Hellabread is displayed as offline:
- Make sure you typed the server IP address correctly. We recommend using mc.hellabread.net to connect. Copy and paste the IP to make sure.
- Our IP may not be accessible from your computer. Try using this IP instead:
bread.craft.gg:10001
- The server may be offline for a restart or maintenance. In the case of a restart, it will be back online within the next minute. If it is down for maintenance, we will post this in our Discord server in the announcements channel. Join to be notified: discord.breadcraft.uk
- Try flushing your DNS cache. Read our article on flushing your DNS cache.
- Make sure your firewall is not blocking the port 10001 for TCP or UDP protocols.
If none of these solved your issue, contact our support team.
