Disconnected when attempting to join
If you can see the MOTD of the server but cannot connect to it, this article is for you. If the server is showing as offline, see this article. Below are some common issues and fixes. If none of them work, contact our support team.
- If you get a message saying "invalid session," restart your game and Minecraft launcher.
- If you get a message about using the wrong version, make sure you are using a supported Minecraft version. You can connect to the server with version 1.14.4 and above.
- If you are using a supported version and still get this message, this is because the server is currently restarting. The native server version of our hub is 1.14.4, so if you try to connect during a restart (before the plugin to allow newer versions had been enabled) you will be kicked with this message. Wait a few seconds and reconnect. This may take up to 20 seconds.
- If you are using a VPN, you will not be able to connect to Hellabread. We block VPNs to prevent ban evasions. Disable your VPN and try reconnecting.
- "Could not connect to a default or fallback server..." If you get this message or a similar message, this means that our hub is currently restarting or offline. Try reconnecting after a few minutes.
- If all else fails, flush your DNS cache! Read our article about this here.
- Finally, and obviously, you will not be able to connect to the server if you are banned. When you try to connect you will see your ban message. If you want to appeal, do so here.
