Kicked for using VPN

Why do we block VPNs?

We block VPNs on Hellabread for a few reasons. We use IP bans to prevent alts, so VPNs allow players to easily evade bans by changing their IP and reconnecting. VPNs also interfere with plugins which rely on player's IP addresses, and can be used for more serious exploits. For these reasons, VPNs are not allowed on Hellabread. However, we can assure you that we will never share, download, or lookup your IP address without your explicit permission. Your IP address will only be accessible to senior staff and will only be used for the purposes of bans and unbans.

If you were kicked for using a VPN, but you don't think you are using one:

• Check that your router does not have a VPN installed.
• If you are using security software, an ad-blocker, or parental control software, this may include a VPN or something very similar to VPN. Try disabling this software and reconnecting.
• Look through your Task Manager or equivalent software to double check that there is no VPN running.
• If all else fails, restart! Try restarting your router, PC, game, and Minecraft launcher. This will refresh authentication and IP addresses.
